My Grandfather and Uncle both owned bakeries and my dad was a baker/confectioner, My mum was a superb cook. During the school holiday I would go and help my dad at the bakery, even on Sunday mornings to rake out the coke burning ovens, which were never allowed to cool or else they would collapse.

For all my adult working life I have worked in catering and most recently I worked for a bakery here in Spain.

I make my own bread and have made cakes for other people for years.
